Who We Are

Go is a turn-based strategy (TBS) game involving two players. Originated in Ancient China more than 2,500 years ago, Go is considered one of the four essential arts of a cultured Chinese scholar in antiquity. There is significant strategy and philosophy involved in the game. As Top Ten Reasons to Play Go states, Go is the simplest of all games, but Go is the most complex of all games. A beginner could understand the rules in three minutes, but it typically takes more than ten years to make a Go master. However, all players are equal in this game, because you could get happiness from it easily, no matter you win or lose.

Our club is designed for all of you who are interested in Go. We hold meetings once a week for all players. For beginners and those who want to improve, decent players in the club will teach during club meeting. For those who plays at high levels (>= KGS 3 dan or equivalents), you are invited to join our Go team for US Collegiate Tournaments, friendly matches with Chinese universities, and more! We hope all Go fans of UCLA could make friends and have fun in our club.
